Elizabeth (“Liz”) Cummings Senior Certified Veterinary Technician
Liz is our senior certified veterinary technician, and has been with us since our founding in 2006. She graduated from Johnson’s College, with an Associate’s degree in Animal Science in 2005. Prior to joining our staff, Liz had extensive experience as a veterinary technician in several animal hospitals across Northeastern Pennsylvania. In addition to her small animal interests, Liz also is interested in equine veterinary medicine. She was born and raised in Sweet Valley, Pennsylvania. Liz now lives in Shavertown with her husband, Frank, their son J.T., and their two dogs: Velma, a German Shepherd, and Benelli, a Chocolate Labrador Retriever. Her family also includes two Haflinger horses, Roger and Blitz. When not working, Liz enjoys riding her horses and driving motorcycles. The thing that Liz likes most about South Mountain Veterinary Hospital is its “family atmosphere”.
Elizabeth (“Beth”) Simonton Certified Veterinary Technician
Beth is a certified veterinary technician, and joined our staff in May, 2015. She graduated from Johnson College with an Associate’s Degree in Animal Science in 2015. Beth loves being in the veterinary profession, and has a special interest in cats. She was born and raised in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania and graduated from Crestwood High School. Beth still lives in Mountain Top with her human family and her two dogs, Taco, a Jack Russell/Chihuaua mix; and Shiloh, a Boxer/Golden Retriever/Poodle/Blue Tick Coonhound mix. In her spare time, she likes to seek out and sample different cuisines. The thing that Beth likes most about South Mountain Veterinary Hospital is its “wonderful staff and clients.”
Stephanie Drach Veterinary Technician
Stephanie is a veterinary technician and has been with us since 2009. She is a graduate of Johnson College’s Veterinary Technician program. Prior to joining our staff, Stephanie had experience as a veterinary technician at Lewisburg Veterinary Hospital. Stephanie was born and raised in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, and now makes Lake Ariel her home. Stephanie lives with her fiancé Matthew, and their dog, Garren, a Cane Corso. Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys horseback riding, bird hunting, boating, crocheting, and just about any outdoor activity. The things that Stephanie likes most about South Mountain Veterinary Hospital are the loyalty and compassion that the entire staff shares for animals, in addition to great team work.
Katelin McGraw Veterinary Assistant
Katelin is a veterinary assistant, and joined our staff in 2014. She graduated from Luzerne County Community College in 2013, with an Associate’s degree in Science. Katelin also has a Pet CPR certification from Luzerne County Community College. Prior to joining our staff, she worked for a veterinary hospital and a kennel, with experience in veterinary assistance, grooming and dog training. Katelin was born, raised and still resides in Hunlock Creek, Pennsylvania. Her pets include: a cat, Fonzie; a Beagle, Ernie; two parakeets, Ray and Pumpkin; and a turtle, Turdee. Outside of work, Katelin volunteers for several animal causes, including the SPCA (Walk for the Animals) and fostering kittens. She is also a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA), and breeds and shows rabbits. Katelin enjoys zumba, piyo, Phillies baseball, Notre Dame football and outdoor activities. Katelin’s favorite things about South Mountain Animal Hospital are its great patients and people, who are “like family”, and its varied caseload which makes “every day different so that she is always learning.”
Marie Craft Veterinary Assistant
Marie is a veterinary assistant and has been with us since 2008. Prior to joining our staff, she worked as a veterinary assistant at White Haven Veterinary Hospital and Croyden Animal Hospital for a combined 12 years. Marie also has prior experience as a manager of a retail store. She was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania, and has lived in Pennsylvania all of her life. She has lived in both Southeastern Pennsylvania (Philadelphia and Bucks County) and Northeastern Pennsylvania. Currently, Marie resides in Freeland with her son, Shane; her granddaughter, Tatum; and her significant other, David. She also shares her home with 3 dogs and a cat: Patrick, a Dachshund mix; Skooter, a Jack Russell Terrier; Sonic, a Pomeranian mix; and Kitty, a cat. Marie’s favorite dog breed is the Mastiff. Outside of work, Marie enjoys listening to Bruce Springsteen, watching Philadelphia Eagles football, visiting the Jersey shore, and spending time with her family. She also can be found attending concerts and watching movies. Marie’s favorite thing about South Mountain Veterinary Hospital is “everything”!
Scott Wagner Operations Manager/Co-Owner
Scott usually works behind the scenes at South Mountain Veterinary Hospital. He is in charge of daily operations within the hospital, and maintaining a clean, and welcoming environment outside of the hospital. He grew up in Humboldt, Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Mountain Top with his wife Tiffany, and their three sons Reece, Maxwell, and Tyson. He also has the pleasure of helping to care for numerous pets at their residence. Scott always wanted to be a policeman growing up, but now enjoys the many opportunities a small business has to offer. In Scott's spare time he enjoys gardening, camping, relaxing by the fire, fishing, and 'fixer-upper' projects.
